A SwagCycle Review – The Most Portable Ebike In The World?

Personal transportation has become an important part of our daily lives. A car is often expensive and parking in the city can be more trouble than it’s worth.

Ebikes are a great way of getting around but can be difficult to bring with you when traveling somewhere.

In this Swagcycle review you will find out why a Swagcyle is the perfect solution to this problem. The light weight, portability and great performance are a fantastic combination of features.

Swagtron – Innovators in Mobility

Maybe the most portable ebike everSwagton is a company that has devoted themselves to revolutionizing the personal transportation industry. They have become the number one manufacturer of e-rideables with their wide variety of products.

Swagtron makes both e-bikes, e-scooters, electric longboards and hoverboards. But in this SwagCycle review we will focus on their ebikes.

When reading my SwagCycle review, you get a very clear idea of what to expect from all of their ebike models. The only huge difference between the models are the range, top-speed and charging time.

To be able to offer you their products at such a reduced price, which is one of the many reasons for their success, they have made sure they have full controll over the production chain.

Like many of their competitors, Nakto for instance, they don’t use any middle-men. They manufacture, market and sell their products themselves. This buissness method cuts out the profits made by retailers and lets them sell their products at a reduced price.

SwagCycle – A Portable Compromise

What i found out when test riding the EB-5 Pro model for my SwagCycle review is that it has many impressive features. As an electrical personal transportation it is great.

The small but powerful 250W hub motor makes a lot of sense on a 14″ wheel. This ebike certainly packs a punch, that’s for sure.

Combined with the impressive range you can squeeze out of the battery it is quite the powerhouse.

But what features has to be compromised when building one of the most portable ebikes ever?

First of all, you lose some features an ordinary bike has, it is a bit hard to pedal without electricity assisting you. Secondly, the small wheels make it pretty useless on off-road terrain. Thirdly, some of the parts are custom-sizes and it can be difficult to find spares.

So how does this trade-off in features benefit you?

  • Portability – When scaling down an ebike in size and weight, it sure makes it a whole lot easier to bring with you. It doesn’t matter if you travel by car, train or subway. Never before have you been able to bring your ebike with you so easily.
  • Thief-proof – You don’t have to leave it outside when you are going to work. When you fold it, it becomes so small that you can bring it inside and store it under your desk.
  • Maneuverability – The small size makes it great in tight or crowded streets. It will out-run a much faster, normal sized ebike on sheer maneuverability.
  • Light weight – If you live in a downtown area you probably don’t have a garage. A normal ebike would be extremely heavy to carry up the stairs. The SwagCycle won’t be any more difficult to carry than a bag of groceries.

Swagcycle Models

In this Swagcycle review we have looked at a few of their different ebike models. First of all, they have eight ebike models, labeled from EB1 to EB8.

Then there are also two other models that are more like a hybrid between an electric scooter and an ebike. These are called EB Pro and Swagcycle Classic. These are pedal-less and are driven with a throttle.

As you look at their different models, have in mind that the lower the model number, the cheaper the bike. The price ranges from about $250 to $1000, the more expensive model, the better motor and range you’ll get.

SwagCycle Review – Pro

The SwagCycle Pro is an extension of the SwagCycle Classic with a better motor and battery. Just as the SwagCycle Classic, this is a pedal-free, throttle driven ebike.

Instead of the 250 watts you get an output of 350 watts. The battery range has been greatly increased, from about 10 to 15 miles. That is an increase of power by about 30% and 50% more range.

I would recommend this ebike before the SwagCycle Classic every time if you are more than 12 years old, you truly get the most value for your money.

So, there are portable ebikes and there are electric toy-bikes for kids. I would definitely classify this ebike as an ebike for kids.

With pedals and a maximum speed of 12.4 mph, this is a perfect gift for a kid who wants their first electric bike.

As it is made primarily for kids they have put safety first, to ensure the best possible brake-strenght this ebike is equipped with really powerful disc-brakes.

SwagCycle Review – EB5

SwagCycle’s EB5 is made for adults and has very similar specifications as the SwagCycle Pro in every aspect. It has a slightly weaker motor, but that is compensated for by larger wheels.

The only real difference is that this ebike is equipped with a pedals and a pedal-assist function. It makes is a lot easier to save power if you are on a longer journey than usual.

I would recommend this model to any taller or heavier person. The larger wheels and overall bike size makes this feel more like a regular ebike while still being foldable and easy to bring with you.
