Razor had a great idea when they realised that they could motorize their drift trikes.
The Power Rider 360 is one of their two current models, this one is for the younger drifters. The DXT which is their other model is for everyone, young as old. But we will focus on the young drifters in this Razor Power Rider 360 review.
A drift trike is about as fun as it gets. It doesn’t matter if it’s “Fast and the Furious” or “Cars”, most kids want to drive like they do in the movies. It’s every kids dream doing 360 degree spins, drifting and sliding down the street.
But does it live up to the hype? Let’s find out in this Razor Power Rider 360 review.
Frame & Handlebar
The frame is made of welded steel for premium durability. As you can see, the motor is shielded by a plastic cover with a cool, futuristic design. This is there to prevent dirt from getting in and to endure lighter impacts.
The moto-style handlebar gives this trike a unique design, inspired by old-school motorcycles.
Wheels and Seat
Razor had security in mind when designing this seat. They built the seat with a rounded fairly high back-rest that supports your weight as you are thrown side to side when drifting.
While sitting comfortably you can rest your feet on the foldable foot pegs. Just hit the gas and your off!
It is the pneumatic front tire and double rear caster wheels that makes this bike so great. The front tire provides the stability while the rear wheels provide the drifting.
Electric Motor & Battery
The chain-driven motor lets you ride at 9 mph (13 km/h), sliding and drifting down the street. You can ride at full speed for about a half hour before you need to charge the 12 volt battery.
A charger is of course included in the package. The electric trike does not have a fast-charge function, it takes almost 12 hours to recharge an empty battery.
I believe this to be a huge mistake that I really hope they correct when they release their next model. The lack of a fast-charger is the only thing that brings down the final rating a tiny bit in this Razor Power Rider 360 review.
The moto-style handlebar has rubber-grips to hold on to. For safety reasons they equipped it with a push button throttle. That is a lot easier for kids to use than a twist-throttle.
When they need to slow down or stop, they can just squeeze the hand-operated brakes, just like they are used to on their bicycles.
Follow your local traffic laws and be careful when riding down the streets, don’t forget to wear a helmet.
Razor Power Rider 360 Review – Final Verdict
Razor has a recommended age of 8+ years and a maximum weight of 54 kg. So this isn’t for the older teenagers. For those, I suggest the DXT model which has a lot more power to it.
For a small kid though, this is a great gift. My 7-year-old son had the chance to try one when we visited my brother and his family over the weekend. He absolutely loved it.
He has been nagging at me ever since, and I think his upcoming birthday might be the time to get him one. I believe that for the younger kids this is the best electric drift trike you can get right now. The reviews have been overwhelmingly positive.
This is a great electric drift trike that any kid would love, I hope you found my Razor Power Rider 360 review helpful. I am sure your kid will have a great time.
